As we move into summer I’ve continued my iconic British birds series with this nuthatch. I don’t see nuthatches very often but when I do they are usually walking down a tree trunk which is how I chose to draw this one. They have a striking black line across their head as well as beautiful grey/blue colouring on their wings and back.

Now it’s finished the nuthatch will be heading off to be professionally photographed and printed.
